A territorial election will be held in Nunavut on October 30, 2017. As a disease affecting more than 12,000 residents and the leading cause of disability in the Territories (Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon), arthritis is a key issue for Nunavut candidates running for office.
ACE sent an open letter and a survey to candidates running in the Nunavut election. ACE outlines the impact of arthritis in Nunavut and the Territories and asks each candidate to share how government can improve arthritis prevention, treatment and care in Nunavut.
Any responses received by ACE are catalogued and posted as they arrive.
ACE survey and candidate responses
ACE letter sent to each candidate included:
- Email to candidate
- ACE Survey: Share your plan for arthritis prevention, treatment and care in Nunavut
Please note that unlike most federal or provincial elections in Canada, elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut are conducted on a non-partisan consensus government model, in which all candidates run as independents rather than being nominated by political parties.
