UCB Canada Inc. is proud to announce the launch of the UCBeyond 2013 Scholarship Program. The UCBeyond 2013 Scholarship Program, now in its seventh year has, to date, allocated 116 scholarships and approximately $585,000 CAD to Canadian students.
UCB Canada Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company committed to developing innovative treatments for inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is dedicated to creating unique programs and tools to aid patients in reaching above and beyond the boundaries of their disease and fulfilling their educational ambitions.
Living day-to-day with inflammatory arthritis can be a struggle. You work hard to manage the disease and to focus on living beyond the boundaries of your condition. Your resolve is a testament to yourself and an inspiration to others who have inflammatory arthritis. That is why UCB Canada Inc. is sponsoring a scholarship program that rewards your ability to take control of your inflammatory arthritis, instead of allowing it to control you.
Scholarship Awards
UCB Canada Inc. is offering one-time scholarships of up to $5,000 CAD in 2013 to students diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis, who are entering into or currently attending a post-secondary educational institution.

Eligibility Requirements
This program is designed for applicants of any age. Applicants must be:
- A legal and permanent resident of Canada
- Diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis by a physician
- Seeking an associate's, undergraduate, or graduate degree from a Canadian university; a diploma or certificate from a Canadian college; or enrolled in a trade school educational program
- Enrolled in or awaiting acceptance from a Canadian-based institution of higher education for the fall semester of 2013
- A student who demonstrates academic ambition and embraces a way of life that goes above and beyond the boundaries of living with inflammatory arthritis
- Complete and sign the application
- Write a one (1) page essay about how you are living above and beyond the boundaries of inflammatory arthritis to demonstrate academic ambition and personal achievement, and how you would benefit from the Scholarship. Past recipient letters have included a desire for academic achievement, perseverance in the face of inflammatory arthritis, and details of school and community involvement.
- Submit two (2) letters of personal recommendation from a teacher, school official, professional colleague, employer or friend describing your unique qualities and how you embrace a way of life that overcomes the boundaries of living with inflammatory arthritis
- An official academic transcript from your most recent year of education
- Confirmation of diagnosis from your treating physician
Applications Must Be Postmarked By June 30, 2013.
