A proven, effective, popular source of arthritis patient information and education, ABN has the most videos and views on a Canadian YouTube arthritis channel.

Arthritis Research Canada serves in an advisory capacity for the scientific content of the ABN.

Bone and Joint Canada

Bone and Joint Canada is a knowledge translation network of people who have an interest in the management of conditions affecting bones and joints. It has undertaken projects across the country to implement best practices across Canada in Hip & Knee Replacement, Hip Fracture, Low Back Pain, Osteoarthritis and Injury Prevention in Soccer; make resources and tool kits accessible to health care professionals; host conferences to train health care professionals; support planning and training for research; and pursue new initiatives in bone and joint care and injury prevention.

CATCH (Canadian Early Arthritis Cohort)

The Canadian Early Arthritis Cohort study (CATCH for short) is a Canadian multicentre research study that aims to improve the quality of care for people with early inflammatory arthritis. CATCH is the only Canadian-wide early arthritis cohort study that is following people with new onset inflammatory or rheumatoid arthritis over time to examine the course of their disease and their response to the treatments provided by their healthcare team

Knowledge Translation Canada

Knowledge Translation (KT) Canada is a network of Canadian experts in knowledge translation joining forces to tackle the greatest challenge in health care today: the fact that although there is a great deal of health research being conducted, there is a gap in applying the results at the patient’s bedside and in every day health decisions. Links to external websites do not imply endorsement or guarantee of the function, accuracy or currency of the websites and the information contained within them.

Inclusion/ Removal Policy

Websites included in the Resources page are reviewed on a regular basis. ACE considers the following criteria when evaluating websites but may include websites that do not meet all the criteria if they are considered useful to arthritis patients.

Inclusion Criteria
  • provides information that is relevant to arthritis patients
  • provides accurate and reliable information
  • clearly identifies the sources of information on its site
  • identifies its mandate, scope, and objectives
  • identifies its sources of funding and sponsorship
  • exists primarily for informational or educational purposes and not to promote a product or service
  • identifies the author or responsible organization and provides information about their credentials
  • provides a way to contact the author, organization, or webmaster
  • provides information that is reasonably current and is reviewed and updated regularly
  • is well organized and easy to use
  • provides unique information that is not easily found elsewhere
Removal Criteria
  • is out of date and is no longer maintained
  • contains numerous defunct links
  • is found to contain inaccurate or misleading information
  • is replaced by another site that provides superior coverage on the same topic
