ARTHRITIS CONSUMER EXPERTS LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
jointhealth.org a trusted source of evidence-based arthritis information and education

(Vancouver, BC) — Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) today announced the launch of their new website JointHealth™ at www.jointhealth.org. The new site provides the best evidence-based arthritis information and education for people living with the disease, their family members, employers and health policy makers.

"The new site is a response to people in our community who told us that the information ACE was providing through our JointHealth™ programs was an enormous help in their battle with arthritis," said Cheryl Koehn, president of ACE and a person living with rheumatoid arthritis.

"A diagnosis of one of the more than 100 different types of arthritis can be devastating and isolating," Koehn continued. "We believe that people with arthritis deserve to have access to the most up-to-date research information available, in consumer-friendly language. We also believe that people living with all forms of arthritis need to know about the issues in the health care system that are preventing them from receiving the best treatments and care possible."

The JointHealth™ web site provides community members, subscribers and visitors with an "action centre" designed to help people with arthritis speak out about the discrimination they face each and every day as patients in the Canadian health care system.

Since 2000, ACE has provided subscribers and health policy makers with evidence-based information through a number of JointHealth™ programs, including JointHealth™ monthly, the only Canada-wide monthly newsletter published in print and online with a print circulation of more than 20,000. Other JointHealth™ programs include JointHealth™ podcasts, the first arthritis education podcast program in Canada, and the breaking news email alerts known as JointHealth™ express.
