Arthritis, Parenting and Household Work Study

Your experiences are valuable. At Arthritis Consumer Experts, we believe that people living with arthritis should have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research. For this reason, we are encouraging you to take part in an upcoming survey being conducted by the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC).

ARC is looking for people who:
  • Are mothers,
  • Have at least one child under 21 years living at home, and
  • Have inflammatory arthritis OR do not have arthritis or another chronic illness
Dr. Catherine Backman, a researcher at the Arthritis Research Centre and the University of British Columbia, is conducting a study on Arthritis, Parenting and Household Work. The purpose of this survey is to help understand the impact of chronic arthritis on the tasks and activities done by mothers, in the care and nurturing of children and household work by comparing the experiences of mothers with and without arthritis.

Participation involves completion of a mailed survey that takes 30-60 minutes to complete.

To volunteer, or for more information, please contact ARC at: 604-871-4564. Alternatively, you can e-mail Dr. Backman, or research assistant Linda Del Fabro Smith.
