Recruits Needed for Research Project
The research team of Dr. Lucie Brosseau of the University of Ottawa is searching for participants for a new research project “People Getting a Grip on Arthritis Online (PGrip2)” which will include arthritis patients using a social networking website to provide an updated online evidence-based educational program.
The program will allow patients with either osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis to acquire knowledge and skills of various self-management strategies. Participants will be given instructions on how to use the Facebook website and access to an online package which includes: presentations from the Arthritis Society website, Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating, The Canadian Guide to Healthy Active Living, and calendars to record physical activity and healthy eating. Participants will be asked to complete three brief questionnaires over a three month duration. Upon completion of the questionnaires, participants will be reimbursed with a $20 gift certificate.
To register, please submit your name, e-mail and postal address to pgriponline@gmail.com or by fax at 613-562-5428. For any questions please contact Dr. Lucie Brosseau at: Lucie.Brosseau@uottawa.ca.
