The Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) need your help in conducting a study about people's experience with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). If you have been diagnosed with RA within the last 12 months, you are invited to take part in an interview session to talk about your experience in looking for treatment and information. We are interested in hearing about what helps and hinders dealing with symptoms on a day-to-day basis and your experiences with health professionals.

Early diagnosis and treatment of RA can help prevent joint damage and improve health outcomes. From this research, we will be able to understand the barriers that people face in seeking treatment and information related to RA. This will enable us to develop initiatives that increase awareness of rheumatoid arthritis and improve access to services so that it can be detected and managed as early as possible.

In order to get an accurate portrayal of the experiences of all populations within the province, we are currently in need of participation from males. This will allow us to create changes that impact all members of British Columbia.

If you are interested in sharing your experiences, please contact:

Dr. Anne Townsend at (604) 827 - 4574 or by e-mail: atownsen@interchange.ubc.ca Zubin Amarsi at (604) 871 - 4572 or by e-mail: zamarsi@arthritisresearch.ca
